Status update: Tripod server condition is already deteriorating again, though it was healthy enough to run the PERL for a short period there... Only one genAI failure to report this month. Tried Perplexity and was not favorably impressed after a longish session. If the Tripod webserver was reliable even for serving files, I actually see a fairly straightforward approach to replacing all the PERL with JavaScript, but because Tripod is so flaky I'd basically be forced to some kludge, like adding the ability to work from the local files for when the webserver is broken. I'm basically sure there must be a better app/website out there somewhere, but I just can't find it...
