Suggested T-Shirt and Bumper Stick Slogans
for the Duration: Have at it, gentle readers.
C.B. Hagman - 03:10pm Nov 7, 2001 EST
Deficits? Hijackings? Tax cuts for the wealthiest?
"Allies" who commit atrocities?
Why, the Bush II administration really does
remind one of the Reagan administration!
Someone in another thread suggested that
we put our ever-ready wit to good use and
start thinking of good slogans for bumper
stickers, buttons, and t-shirts. So, with
apologies to outlets like Northern Sun, I
begin this thread.
And in case you think this is too frivolous,
remember, you could start a small business
on one of these ideas. It's good for the
economy, and it amuses us, sort of like Bob
Hope on a USO tour.
Have at it.

Gosh, but Enron is SUCH an easy target
Enron was NOT bribing a few politicians.
Enron was trying to collect the entire set.
Dubya, though their most prominent bribee,
was just a bad investment. Yeah, he had good
points. He was too dumb to understand what
they were doing, and even better, couldn't
care less. But when push came to shove, they
were hoping for a much better return on the
cash. Kenny who?

stirling s newberry - 12:17pm Feb 17, 2002 EST (436.)

If guns are outlawed, the out gunned will
have laws.
There are two Enron scandals.
One is the Enron scandal - which both parties
have mud spatters from. This scandal is about
how a large corporation committed fraud dragging
down thousands of people in its wake. It
is the scandal of how deregulation has destroyed
on of the pillars of a functioning market
economy - transpearancy. We wanted to live
in a third world legal system, we will soon
have a more third world economy to go with
it.
The other is the Ken Lay scandal, which is
almost exclusively a Republican problem.
It is the problem of how various individuals
used Enron to cuck money out for themselves,
and spent much of that to put the right people
in power.
The Republicans will do everything to make
sure that the second scandal does not get
public attention - including misdirection
and some concession on the first scandal.

Incubating idea...
Not sure how to do this one, but the idea
is to portray Dubya as a used brain salesman.
Just passed by one of his staunchest supporters
over on the newsgroups, and you have to regard
that as one brain that has hardly ever been
used. But the inspiration is eluding me...
It has to involve Dubya's basically unused

Shannon, I will say that Bush seems to love
talking about war (though not, curiously
enough, to go off to war himself). The emphasis
is always on secrecy, self-righteousness,

insensitive approach totally lacking in nuance.

More derivative thoughts from www.gwbush.com
With regards to Michael Scott 5/4/02 1:49am I think the Capitol Steps has a couple of
songs out about Scalia, and another one called
"How do you solve a problem like Korea?"
They're an interesting "progressive"
band, but just as happy to criticize Clinton
a few years ago. Overall, I find their lyrics
interesting, but their music lacks originality--they
just add new words to old music. Some of
the lyrics are clever enough, but I can't
recall any brilliant parodies. Tom Lehrer
was distinctly more talented if you ask me.
His "Send the Marines", "Who's
next?" and several of his other songs
are just as relevant as they ever were.
On that Web site I mentioned, it would be
interesting to know what kinds of protests
are of increasing popularity. I noticed that
he prominently featured ones that separate
love of Dubya from love of country, which
got me to thinking of:

In 1992, toward the end (when it was pretty
clearly hopeless), apparently the Bush (senior)
campaign had lots of T-shirts, bumperstickers,
etc., printed up that said, "Annoy the
media. Re-elect Bush."
There's got to be at least one storage locker
somewhere still stuffed with those.
Anyway, we should alter that slogan: Strike
out "Bush" and in its place, put
"Gore in '04"
"Annoy the media (and the Supreme Court)!
Re-elect Gore in '04."

Oh, how I agree, Michael.
BTW, while walking in D.C. yesterday, I saw
part of a poster (now half torn off, alas)
that talked about "The Madness of George
II" or some such thing, and it was targeted
at You Know Who. Maybe some enterprising
soul could attach Dubya's head to the body
of Nigel Hawthorne (may he rest in peace)
on the movie poster for The Madness of King George. I really doubt that Alan Bennett (IIRC,
the playwright of The Madness of George III) would mind.

jokes.

worse. You could have a no-class governor

I'm quite certain that Dubya's definition
